- טְמִי, טְמָא= h. טָמֵא, to be, become unclean. Targ. Ps. 106:39 טְמִיאוּ (some ed. incorr. טַמִּי׳). Pa. טַמֵּי, טַמֵּא to make unclean. Targ. Y. II Num. 12:12.Targ. Mic. 2:10 בדיל לטַמָּיוּתָהּ ed. Lag. (ed. בדיל ט׳ corr. acc.) in order to defile her.Ḥull.3a לטַמְּיֵיה … וטַמִּיתֵיה לבשר the person will make the knife unclean and then the knife will make the flesh unclean. Pes.79a דבשר הוא דמְטַמְּיָא ליהוכ׳ which affects only the flesh, but not the person. (Ms. M. דמִיטַּמֵּי … מִיטַּמְּאֵי, Ithpe.). Ib. 67b טַמּוּיֵי מְטַמֵּי makes unclean; a. fr.
